Apple Crumble Recipe is one such recipe that was on my mind for months. Every time I buy apples I want to bake them so badly. A few days back, I found some lovely juicy apples. So decided to try it and the result was amazing.

Making Apple Filling
- First, wash the apple in running water. Drain all the water. Then peel them. Seeds and pulp removed. Cut all apples into 1-inch cubes.
- Take apples in a mixing bowl.
- Add sugar, ground cinnamon, lemon juice, wheat flour, and ground nutmeg powder (optional) to the apples.
- Mix very well and keep aside.
- Grease a baking tray or pan with a little butter. Keep aside.
Making Streusel Stuffing
- Cut 75 grams of cold butter into cubes. Take cubes in a mixing bowl. You will need ⅓ cup butter cubes.
- Add castor sugar or powdered sugar. Please do not use granulated sugar as it does not melt while baking and gives an awful grainy texture to the top layer.
- Add vanilla extract.
- Then add whole wheat flour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt to it.
- Cut the butter into the flour with a pastry cutter until you get the texture of sandy breadcrumbs in the dough. You can also use a knife or your fingers to mix the butter into the flour. A stand mixer with a paddle attachment can also be used. If the butter starts melting, keep the mixture in the fridge for a few minutes.
Layering
- Place the apple stuffing in a pan greased with ghee. Place the apples well in the pan. Also preheat the oven to 180 degree Celsius or 356 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 minutes.
- Using a spoon, sprinkle the streusel topping evenly over the apples.
- Sprinkle in such a way that you get an even layer of streusel stuffing over the apples.
Baking
- Place the pan in a preheated oven and bake at 180°C or 356°F for 40 minutes, till the top is golden brown.
- When a golden crust appears on top, take it out of the oven. Different ovens have different temperatures, so keep this in mind when baking.
- Let the apple pieces warm and then serve. You can serve it with ice cream, custard, or whipped cream. Keep leftovers in the fridge and serve warm in the oven.

Oats: For a more crunchy and crunchy texture, you can add oats. Add ½ cup rolled oats and ½ cup all-purpose flour.
Flour: You can use all-purpose flour instead of whole wheat flour.
